DIES AFTER FALL FROM TRUCK
Linwood Williams, 35, of Riverhead, died Tuesday in the Eastern Long Island Hospital, Greenport of a broken neck, received Saturday afternoon when he fell from a truckload of hay.
Williams, who had been in the employ of Raymond H Nugent of Riverhead, had been loading hay on Nugent’s farm, and had climbed to the top of the load in preparation for the hay’s delivery, when he apparently lost his balance and fell.
Mr Nugent rushed the injured man to the office of Dr Hallock Luce in Riverhead who ordered him taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Reginald Tuthill’s ambulance. He died there Tuesday morning.
Funeral services for Williams, who was the son of Mrs Charles Lepatz of Riverhead, will be held at 2 pm today in Tuthill’s Funeral Parlors, Riverhead with the Rev Charles MacLean, pastor of Grace Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Riverhead cemetery.
