    Obituary - Mrs. Eleanor S. Murray, widow of the late Robert Murray, died yesterday at her home, 34 Oak Street. Mrs. Murray had been in poor health for some time but her condition had not been serious until recently. She was 61 years old.
    She leaves one daughter, Mrs. C.W. Ruland of North Ocean Avenue, and three brothers, Parmenus, Walter and Frank Overton. The funeral is to be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from her late home, the Rev. John Robert Gee of the Congregational Church officiating, with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

    Obituary - Walter G. Overton, Sr., aged 60, retired plumbing contractor, died Sunday morning at his home in Patchogue after a long illness. Born in Patchogue, Mr. Overton had been a lifelong resident of the village. He was an active member of the board of trustees of the Patchogue Congregational Church. He was also vice president and a director of the People's National Bank of Patchogue. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Veronica Jones Overton; two sons, Walter G. Overton Jr., and Franklyn H. Overton, all of Patchogue, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Green of Waterbury, Conn.

    Obituary - December 10, 1923 - May 11, 2014- "Walter G. "Pep" Overton, Jr., 90, of Englewood, Florida passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, after a short battle with several health issues.
    He was born to Walter G. Overton and Veronica (Jones) Overton in Patchogue, Long Island, New York on December 10, 1923. Pep served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1963 during WWII serving in North Africa, Italy and Austria returning in 1946.
    He served in Korea and several military installations until his retirement at Westhampton AF Base, Long Island, N.Y. In that same year, he entered banking and retired as a Branch Manager of Barclays Bank in 1983.
    After several years as winter residents in their condo at the Wildflower Golf and Country Club in Englewood he and his loving wife Lois, sold their home in Patchogue and the beach cottage located at Long Cove, Fire Island, and moved permanently to Florida in 1992.
    He enjoyed many years of surf casting and boating and water sports. He was a life member of the Congregational Church of Patchogue, North Patchogue Fire Department, past Commodore of the Patchogue Domino Yacht Club, Englewood VFW Post #10178 and also a member of Rotonda Elks Lodge #2710.
    For many years he and Lois enjoyed playing golf, cruising and traveling north to see relatives and friends. He was predeceased by first wife Claire (Gallop) Overton in 1977 and brother Franklyn H. Overton 1979...."

    Obituary - Franklyn (Duff) Overton, 54, of Bellport, died yesterday at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of the Bellport Scooter Club, Pattersquash Gun Club, and the Southside Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
    Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
    He is survived by his wife, and two sons, all of Bellport. Also surviving are his mother, Veronica, and a brother, Walter G. Jr., both of Patchogue

    Mr. Charles E. Overton, 79, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Marathon Health Care Center of Greater Waterbury. He was the widower of Betty (Larrow) Overton.

    Mr. Overton was born in Waterbury on May 14, 1929, son of the late Parmineous and Edna A. (West) Overton. He was employed at Vickors Co. and later at the Bristol Co. until his retirement in 1985. He was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church.

    He leaves four sons, Charles E. Overton of Ashville, N.C., Donald F. Overton and his wife, Debra, of Oakville, Everett Overton of Waterbury, Michael J. Overton of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Russell Overton of Waterbury, Robert Overton of Bethlehem, and William Overton of Waterbury; two sisters, Eunice MaCary and Barbara Russell; a grandson, Michael Overton; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Caouette. Mr. Overton was predeceased by a grandson, Donald Overton Jr., and two brothers, John Overton and Franklyn Overton.

    Arrangements: Funeral 9 a.m. Saturday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Former Cutchogue resident Eloys C. Sterling of Ridge, a homemaker and longtime member of Cutchogue United Methodist Church, died on Feb. 10 in Ridge. She was 82. Ms. Sterling was born in Patchogue on Sept. 30, 1922, to Albert and Lillian (Rogers) Conklin. Her father owned Toad-Conklin Boat Yard in Patchogue and she became an avid sailor. When she married William Sterling, she became part of the family that founded Sterling Nursery, the oldest seed and plant farm in New York State, on Main Road in Cutchogue in 1879. After moving to Leisure Knoll in Ridge, she joined the Shoreham-Wading River Garden Club. Predeceased by her husband in the early 1980s, Ms. Sterling is survived by her son, Peter, of Cutchogue; a daughter, Bonnie Towle of Harvard, Mass.; a brother, Robert Conklin, of Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cremation, on Feb. 14, was private, with arrangements by William F. Coster Funeral Home, Cutchogue. Interment will be at Cutchogue Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
