  Conrad Phillip Ariens "Conrad Philip Ariens came to Connersville in Fayette County, IN in 1885 from Franklin County. (Brookville Twnp.) He started a brick yard and continued making bricks until about 1898 when he started the manufacture of elm hubs for wagons. He continued with this business for several years while slowly phasing into the sawmill business which he continued until retiring in 1944. At the time of his retirement he had been in business in ONE location longer than any business in Connersville, IN." [Ariens History 14 July, 1991 by Andrew A.
