  Died at Eastern Long Island Hospital Obituary from The Suffolk Times Newspaper, Firday July 10, 1959 Captain Lloyd Blydenburgh 81 years of age passed away at the Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, on Friday July 3rd. Captain Blydenburgh was born in Stony Brook and had been a resident of the Village of Greenport for about sixty years. He was a sailor and a yacht captain by occupation and retired from the active life of a seaman about ten years ago. Funral services were held at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greenport on Monday July 6th. Rev Thomas Halderman officiating, Internment in the Sterling Cemetery. Surviving Capt. Blydenburgh are three sons; Thomas of Calverton, Raymond of Greenport, and Edgar of eacon, N.Y. Five daughters, Mrs. stelle Foster of Hampton Bays, Mrs. Dorothy Thilberg of Greenport, Mrs. Betty Ball of Bellmore, L.I. Mrs. Anette Martell of Massapequa park and Mrs. Eleanor Austin of Greenport; One sister Mrs. George Verity of St. James, L.I. one brother Ralph Blydenburgh and 33 grandchildren and 43 Great-grandchildren.
