Elijas was born in New Netherlands, NY (Brooklyn) and before becoming early pioneers in Six Mile Run where they were members of the Six Mile Run Dutch Reformed Church, in Monmouth County, NJ, Elijas lived on his fathers land at Gowanus Bay, NY. Elijas died after 1727 in Spartenburg, SC.

“Run” means creek or stream. Six Mile Run was the name of the location of a stream that crossed the old Indian Path (now Rt. 27) between New Brunswick and Trenton. The name “Six Mile Run” indicated to the travelers that they were six miles from Indian’s Ferry Landing on the Raritan River (now New Brunswick).

Regarding sale of land in Amity, Berks County, PA, Elias and his wife sold 300 acres to their son Gilbert, Simon and Elijas were instrumental in signing a petition that formed the township of Amity, Elijas and his wife. then moved south with the Boone family, having prior relationships with the Boone Family, in hunting trips, involvement including court and guardianship proceedings, and land deals.

Elias and Catherine's grandson, William De Hart, son of their son, Gilbert, married Mary Catherine Boone, whose father was Joseph Boone, Jr, son of Joseph Boone.
Boone family stood up for various De Harts, including Samuel De Hart, in Court on various proceedings, pensions, land, guardianship, etc...
Elias and Catherine was also the parents of Simon De Hart who was the parents of Elias Richard De Hart, the parents of Nathan D' Hart of Swain County, Bryson City, NC.
Early settlers, pioneers, and in some areas the first to settle.
