    Notes:

    Daniel-4 Youngs was the youngest son of Christopher-3 and Elizabeth (Moore) Youngs. His line of descent was Daniel-4, Christopher-3, Christopher-2, Rev John-1 Youngs, the immigrant.

    He married Mary Penny on Oct 16, 1732, in Aquebogue, Long Island, NY. (Salmon Records) She was probably the daughter of Edward and Katherine (____) Penny.

    They had nine children, eight of which survived to adulthood: Mary md Micah Wells, Elizabeth md Ezekiel Petty, Rachel md Daniel Terry, Daniel md Abiah Swezey, Abigail md Henry Terry, Rufus md Mehetabel Tuthill, Katherine died young, Nathan md Mary Terry, and Hannah md Zachariah Hallock.

    Pioneers of Riverhead Sketch, 1987, Virginia Wines, pg 82: ""Danie Youngs" (1712-1755), the brother of Christopher (1700-1786) on the church account, resided on the Youngs farm south of the Country Road, and opposite the south end of Tuthill's Path at Jamesport. He married Oct 16, 1732, Mary Penny, probably the daughter of Edward and Katherine Penny. Daniel died January 18, 1755, and was buried at Jamesport. Daniel's will dated January 6, 1755, and proved February 6, 1755, states that he is living on the part of his farm he bought of his brother Christopher. The will mentions six daughters, three sons, and an unnamed infant, who was the youngest daughter Hannah born in 1754. Hannah married Capt. Zachariah Hallock (1749-1820) in 1771.:

    Page 211.--In the name of God, Amen, January 6, 1755. I, DANIEL YOUNGS, of Southold, being very sick, I leave to my wife Mary all my movable estate of every kind for the bringing up of my children, and what is left is to be divided among my 6 daughters, Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel, Abigail, Catharine, "and the infant child." I also give to my wife the west room in my dwelling house, and the chamber and bedroom belonging to the same, so long as she remains my widow, and no longer, And my wife shall have the whole improvement of all my lands and meadows and buildings for her more comfortable support until my son Daniel is 21, and then the improvement of 1/2. I leave to my oldest son Daniel all my lands and meadows (except as above), and he shall pay to my two sons, Rufus and Nathan, œ75 each when of age. But if he refuses to pay them, they shall have all that part of my farm where I now live, which I bought of my brother, Christopher Youngs, and also my meadow at Saw Mill creek. I make my wife Mary and my brother, Christopher Youngs, executors.

    'This Mary may have married Oct 16, 1732 Daniel Young and been the mother of Rev. Daniel Young of Aquebogue. The widow of Daniel (1712-1755) died June 8, at the age of 81 and it seems likely that she was the infant Mary baptized in 1718.'

    In the name of God, Amen. I, CHRISTOPHER YOUNGS, of the town of Southold, in Suffolk County, being in health.

    I leave to my son Christopher, all my lands and buildings where he now dwells at Aquabauk, in said town, bounded north by the Sound, east and west by land of Israel Parshall, south by John Youngs, with that my way from the said premises to the Kings Road. And all my meadows on the south side of Peaconick River, and my meadow lying at Peaconack (so called) on the north side of said river.

    I leave to my wife Elizabeth, 1/2 of all my movable estate, to dispose of as she pleases. And her choice of my two dwelling houses, where I now dwell, and 1/3 of the land where I now dwell, bounded north by the Kings highway, east by Thomas Conkling, south by the bay, and west by Benjamin Youngs. And 1/3 of my meadow called Puryers (Purriers) meadow, lying at the south end of said land, during the time she remains my widow and not longer. And she is to have the improvement of the other 2/3 of the land and meadow, where I now dwell, until my son Daniel shall be of age.

    I leave to my son Daniel, all my said land with all the houses and buildings.

    I leave to my wife, all the rest of my movables. I make my wife and my son Christopher, executors.

    Codicil. I leave to my son Daniel, all that parcel of meadow at Saw mill brook, in Southold, which I lately purchased of Jabes Mapes.
