    Notes:

    Graduate of Harvard University, Boston, Mass, Agriculture, he worked as a Nurseryman. Irving registered for the draft in 1918 at the age of 45, showing an address of Clinton, Worcestershire, Mass., wife Vestella Dix, and was appointed a Secretary of the National War Work Council of the Y.M.C.A. by the War Personnel Board for service with the troops with the American Expeditionary Force in France in 1918. He later served as a Scientific Aide for the Agricultural Department of the U.S. Government.

    Obituary - Mrs. Vestella May Dix, aged 69, of College Park, Md., died February 27 in Washington, D.C.

    Mrs. Dix leaves her husband, Irving W. Dix of College Park; and daughter, Mrs. Helen Woolford of Farmingdale, formerly of Patchogue; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Wheaton of College Park, and a granddaughter, Nathalie Woolford.

    The body was removed to Ruland's Funeral chapel, North Ocean Avenue, Patchogue, where the funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Fraser of Riverhead, officiating. Interment was made in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
