    Obituary - Patchogue, L.I., February 23 - William H. Corwin, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home on Amity Street, last Tuesday afternoon of heart failure. He had been ill all winter and had been confined to the house for the past six weeks. Mr. Corwin was born at Bellport, February 15, 1832. He had lived in Brooklyn for twenty years, and while there was employed for fourteen years with the Union Ferry Company. He had lived at Patchogue for the past thirteen years and was one of its best citizens, respected by all. During the war he served in the Fourty-eighth New York Volunteers, as sergeant and after nearly two years of active service was discharged for disability. He had been totally blind for the past ten years. He had been married forty-two years and his widow and daughter, Mrs. Leroy Hulse of Brooklyn, survive him. The funeral will be held tomorrow, the Rev. C.N. Gleason of the Congregational Church officiating. Mr. Corwin was a member of South Side Lodge No. 493, F. and A. M., of Patchogue.

Hedges and Mary Beale) was born 25 Dec 1830, East Patchogue, Suffolk, New York, United States; died 23 Jan 1918, Patchogue, Suffolk, New York, United States; was buried , Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue, Suffolk, New York, United States.
