    Allen Dinga, Sr, 72, a longtime Rhinebeck resident, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY.
    For many years Al was the building inspector for the Town of Rhinebeck. He also worked for over 30 years with IBM in Poughkeepsie and was a member of their ¼ Century club.
    Al was a life member of the Rhinebeck Fire Company and was past President and longtime member of the Board of Directors of Inflight.
    He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961.
    Born on June 28th, 1938, in Bay Shore, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen and Bernice Mae (Seamon) Dinga.
    Al married Ann Duffy in 1961 in Bay Shore, NY and she predeceased him on September 5, 2005.
    He is survived by two sons; Allen Dinga, Jr and his wife Beth of Kingston, NY, and Michael Dinga of Rhinebeck, six grandchildren; Allen III, Emily, Suzanne, Michael, Zachary, and Molly Dinga, a sister; Carol Waseng and her husband Dennis, a brother; Gerry Dinga, and several nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends.
    In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son; Stephen Thomas Dinga.
    Funeral services will be held at Burnett & White Funeral Home, 91 E. Market St. Rhinebeck on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10 am. Burial will be at Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck.
    Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday, March 4th, 2011 from 3 to 5 pm.
    Memorial donations may be made in Allen's memory to the American SIDS Institute, 509 Augusta Drive, Marietta, GA 20067.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 91 E. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY.

    Ann Dinga, 63, of Rhinebeck, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2005 at her home. Born July 6, 1942, in Bay Shore, NY, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Mary Ellen (Cleary) Duffy. She graduated from Bay Shore High School. In 1961, in Bay Shore, she married Allen Dinga, Sr. He survives her at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons: Allen and his wife Beth Dinga, Jr. of Kingston, NY, and Michael A. Dinga of Rhinebeck, her six grandchildren: Allen Dinga, III, Emily, Suzanne, Michael, Zachary, and Molly Dinga, and several cousins. A son, Stephen Thomas Dinga, predeceased her. Private funeral services and burial were held on Wednesday, September 7th, at the Rhinebeck Cemetery
