Died at Moses Taylor Hospital

Stanley Myers of Tafton, Pa., formerly of Danboro, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, Pa. He was 93.
He was the husband of Shirley A. (Carr) Myers.
Stanley was born in Doylestown, the son of Charles Elmer Myers and Mary Emma (Beidler) Myers.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Godown and Vicky O'Toole (John); son, Karl; step-daughters, Amy Calnan (Thomas) and Beth Kolodziejczak (Henry); 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Myers.
A graduate of Doylestown High School, Stanley served his country during World War II as a member of the 10th Mountain Division. He received the Bronze Star, among other honors. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion.
After the war, Stan made his career as a substation tech for Philadelphia Electric until his retirement. At the same time, Stan owned Stan's Cycle Shop in Danboro. Motorcycles were his passion and he took many titles on the racing circuit. He was a founder of Delaware Valley BMW Riders Club and served as president and organized many events for the club throughout the years.
He also enjoyed traveling with his family and they journeyed extensively in the United States and Canada. He took many trips to Germany and was also fortunate enough to tour some of the sites in Italy where he had served during the war. Stan loved to meet people and share his stories and he will be missed by his many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Shelly Funeral Home, Easton & Keller's Church Road, Plumsteadville, Pa. Interment will follow at Mechanicsville Cemetery.

Anna (daughter of George William Bishop and Theresa Adler Jeudy) was born 22 Nov 1931, Valley Stream, Nassau, New York, United States; died 11 Mar 2012, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsyllvania, United States; was buried 15 Mar 2012, Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States.
