    Obituary - Mrs. Sarah E. Overton, formerly of Patchogue, L.I., died Wednesday at the home of her grandson, Percy C. Smith, at Hempstead. She was 79 years old and is survived by one son, Edward G. Overton, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Ruland Funeral parlors here this afternoon, the Rev. W. H. Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Cemetery.

    OBITUARY - Mrs. Ruth Overton, mother of J.B. and Joshua Overton, of this village, died at the residence of the latter on Thursday afternoon at the ripe old age of 84 years and 9 months. Funeral services will be held today at half past 10 oclock, at the M. E. Church, and the burial will take place at Coram at 1 oclock. The services at the church will be brief in order to give the friends who wish ample time to attend the burial.
    The deceased was a lady of remarkable strength of character and physical vitality. Her long life has been blest with excellent health.
    She reared a family of 12 children, and lived to see a number of great, great grand-children. She leaves 47 great grand-children, 42 grand-children, and eight children, all not living---five females and three males. Mrs. Overton never knew what it was to endure a fit of sickness, and until a month or two ago she took and active part in the prayer meetings of her loved church. With her passes away nearly the last link that connects the present with the old school race of the past. Her death was calm and peaceful---a fitting close of an active and vigorous life.
