    George A. Dwight Seaman, of Florissant, MO, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Seaman; cherished son of the late George and Thurma Nell Seaman; devoted father of Kristine (Mark Arnold) Seaman, Craig (Heidi Fuentes) Seaman, and Michele (David) Lowery; loving grandfather of Kalynn Lowery, Savannah Landwehr, Carter Seaman, Maxwell Seaman, Nico Fuentes, and Maia Fuentes; lifelong best friend of Walter Couch; brother-in-law of Tina (Leeman) Medlin, Wayne (Kathy) Mattes, and the late David Mattes.
    George proudly served 27 years in the military, including the United States Navy, the Naval Reserves, and the Air National Guard. George received several awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. While George was in the military, he did several jobs as a taxi driver and school bus driver until he found the job he truly enjoyed and ultimately retired from. He worked at MO Air National Guard at Lambert IAP, 131st Civil Engineering as a plumber, and made several friends throughout his years at the base. George was a faithful member of Atonement Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
    He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching anything regarding America and military themes. His favorite movies though were Old Country Westerns that starred his favorite actor, John Wayne. George enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. One of George's favorite pastimes was taking his granddaughters (Kalynn and Savannah) on weekly lunch dates to Steak 'n Shake. He was dearly loved, cherished, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

    George married Kathleen Marie Mattes 14 Feb 1970, Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States. Kathleen (daughter of John D.     Kathleen Mattes Seaman, 60, of Florissant, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at her home.
    She was born Dec. 7, 1948, daughter of John D. and Mary Jane Mattes. She and George A.D. "Dwight" Seaman were married Feb. 14, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
    Kathleen was a graduate of Central High School and Jewish Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and involved with Girl Scouts.
    Survivors include her husband; three children, Kristine Seaman, Craig Seaman and Michele (David) Landwehr, all of Florissant; her mother of Kelso, Mo.; two granddaughters, Kalynn Seaman and Savannah Landwehr of Florissant; a brother, Wayne (Kathy) Mattes of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Tina (Leeman) Medlin Jr. of Kelso.
    She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, David Mattes; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Nell Seaman.
    Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, George Bathe, Walter Couch, Ryan Mattes, Leeman Medlin, Casey Medlin and Wayne Mattes.
    Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
