!p. 178 lists the town and county offices he held; received a M.A. (Yale
College 1729). He resided first in Wethersfield, then for a short time in
Hartford. He married in Middletown, 17 March 1730/1731, Hope Phillips,
who died 1 Dec. 1736, having borne him two sons and a daughter. Before
her death, he moved to Colchester. (Yale Biographies, I. 386) The
surviving children by the first wife were Samuel P. Lord and Hope Lord,
who married Amasa Jones.

Epaphras married Lucy BULKELEY. Lucy was born 29/29 Jan 1719/1720, Colchester, New London, Connecticut, United States; died 10 May 1800, Colchester, New London, Connecticut, United States. [Group Sheet]

!Brief Sketch: He was Deputy in 1669 and often afterward. He was one of
the wealthiest merchants of his time, made many trading voyages and
was lost at sea Nov. 5, 1685, aged 49 years, leaving a large estate to his
widow and his only child. The inventory of his property amounted to
5,786 Pounds Sterling, and was with one exception the greatest up to
that time in Hartford.
