Notes:

Obituary - Capt. Charles Mott, a noted sea captain, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.H. Hazen, Railroad Avenue, Patchogue, last Thursday. Captain Mott was born at Brookhaven, January 25, 1815, and had been a resident of Patchogue since a young lad. He followed the sea all his life and commanded many noted large trading vessels sailing from New York. He had been sick only six weeks. He leaves five children; Charles S. Mott, superintendent of the Nassau Oyster Company; Mrs. W.H. Hazen, Mrs. Herbert Hammond of Patchogue, Amsa H. Mott of Far Rockaway and William Mott of Hampton, Va. The funeral was held from the home of Mrs. Hazen on Saturday afternoon.
