14281 | spelled Jeffery David Miles on birth certificate Jeffrey David Miles Posted on November 15, 2012 YAKIMA - Jeffrey David Miles (50) died on Friday, November 2, at home. Jeff was born August 21, 1962 in Pocatello, Idaho to Elizabeth Patterson (Miles) and Nelson A. Miles, but lived most of his life in Yakima and attended schools in the Yakima School District. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1981. Jeff was a professional photographer for several years but has spent the last few years disabled and unable to work. In addition to his work as a photographer he worked in one hour photo labs in Yakima and in Boise, Idaho. He has left us with hundreds of beautiful photos of the Cascade Mountains and of the Oregon beaches. Jeff loved the out of doors and before he became too ill, he spent many vacations camping and hiking in the mountains and at the beaches in Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii. He and his friend Rob climbed Mt. St. Helens and camped both in the mountains and at the beach. Cannon Beach was his favorite place and he introduced many of his friends to Hug Point, just south of Cannon Beach. Jeff also enjoyed visiting with his son Geoff. One of his favorite places was a time-share on a yacht in San Diego where he and his son could stay right on the water. Jeff is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Patterson of Yakima, his son, Geoffrey Thomas Miles of San Diego and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his father. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 P.M. in the LDS Church, 4307 Englewood Avenue, Yakima, WA. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Heart Fund. "Jeff was cremated and I plan to scatter the ashes at Hug Point, a place on the Beach near Canon Beach, Oregon. It was one of his favorite places to visit. I will go there in June to scatter the ashes." e-mailed from mother, Elizabeth Ann Patterson | MILES, Jeffrey David (I1151)
