BARBADOS_SLAVES: In 1829 he was the owner of The Clelands Plantation, St. Andrew which then had 113 Male and 116 Female Slaves totalling 229 slaves in all - more details in Folio 313 Volume 4th (T71/546 Colonial Slave Registry 17 Date 1829). In 1829, he also owned The Farm Plantation, St. Peter which then had 22 Male and 28 Female Slaves totalling 50 slaves in all - more details in Folio 227 Volume 5th (T71/546 Colonial Slave Registry 17 Date 1829). In 1832, he was still the owner of The Clelands Plantation, St. Andrew which then had 107 Male and 115 Female Slaves totalling 222 slaves in all - more details in Folio 315 Volume 4th (T71/552 Colonial Slave Registry 17 Date 1832). In 1832, he still owned The Farm Plantation, St. Peter which then owned 21 Male and 27 Female Slaves totalling 48 slaves in all - more details in Folio 218 Volume 5th (T71/552 Colonial Slave Registry 17 Date 1832). In 1834, he still owned The Farm Plantation, St. Peter which then had 20 Male and 27 Female Slaves totalling 47 slaves in all - more details in Folio 227 Volume 5th (T71/565 Colonial Slave Registry 17 Date 1834).

We, the undersigned, being two of the Valuers appointed to Classify and Value the Slaves in the above named Colony, do on our Oaths declare, after due examination and enquiry, that the above Return is a just true, and accurate Classification and Valuation of the Slaves therein mentioned, on the 1st day of August, 1834, according to the best of our knowledge, information, and belief. Dated this 17th day of November 1834. Sworn this 1st day of January 1835 (T71/802/4948).

ARMS - Argent, an eagle displayed between three trefoils Or, impaling Quarterly 1 and 4, Argent, a lion rampant ; 2 and 3, Argent, in chief three leaves, in base a bugle-horn.

Monumental Inscription to Charlotte Cumberbatch nee Burnet Jones in St. Mary, Paddington (In the Church, on north wall of north gallery, on a sculptured white marble tablet; above is a broken pediment, with a kneeling figure, angel's head, and child below:-
Sacred to the Memory of CHARLOTTE CUMBERBATCH, daughter of the late Robert Burnet Jones, Esqre and of Elizabeth Susanna his wife. Born October 5th 1786; Married A.P. Cumberbatch ESQre October 31st 1805. Died January 15th 1818. Her afflicted Husband has caused this monument to be erected. She lies entombed with her father Rt Burnet Jones ESQre and her youngest brother Joseph Jones, ESQre in the North Ground of this church. Benjamin William Robert Cumberbatch, her second son died at Bifrons, near Canterbury, May 7th 1820, in the 8th year of his age.

Her husband Abraham Parry Cumberbatch was of Barbadoes, later of Tubney Lodge, co. Berks, then of The Broad, Hellingly, co. Sussex, and died at Tunbridge Wells October 1840, aged 56. She was his first wife. The had issue an only surviving son, Abraham Carlton Cumberbatch, Consul at Constantinople, and a daughter Eliza*.
The arms should be : Gules, an eagle displayed between three trfoils Or. See G.W. Marshall's "Collections for a Genealogical Account of the Family of Comberbach," p. 38. A pedigree of Jones is in Burke's "Landed Gentry".
*Eliza Cumberbatch married Revd Henry Chichely Michell, Vicar of Lymington, Co. Hants.
