Frederick Lawrence Pearce
February 15, 1925-April 18, 2015
Fred Pearce of Buckhead Ridge, Okeechobee, FL passed away today of a heart attack while attending Raulerson Rehabilitation center in recovery from a heart attack he'd had last week.
God answered the daily prayer Fred recited every day since May 28, 2009. "please take me Lord, so I can be with June." June and Fred were married for 67 years, but had known each other since birth. Their mothers pushed them in their carriages together. They grew up best friends and were married October 7, 1946. April Lynne (Pearce) Powell was born July 8 1947, and then a second daughter, Carol Ruth (Pearce) Brown was born November 13, 1954.
Fred Pearce was a hard working man all of his life, a decorated disabled veteran of WWII, a loving husband and devoted father. He never met a stranger, and was kind to everyone he met. From his hands came flower boxes, home repairs, and perfectly cut and manicured lawns. He would have given June the world and everything in it, but all he could manage was a beautiful home where love was the key word. They weren't a Cinderella story but a close second to Edith and Archie. Today they are together, happy, healthy and wholly embraced in the arms of our Lord.
Fred is survived by his daughters April Lynne Powell and Carol Ruth Brown. Grand daughters Janne Yve Poulette Reichard and Rhian Lynne Shultz. Great grand children Brianna Yvette Reichard, Meghan Kathryn Reichard, Kadence Ann Reichard and Earl Roland Reichard IV.
Mariah, Candy and Shin Diawa Bear will miss the kindness he showed in the form of more dog cookies than they really should have had.
There will be a life service and scattering of ashes at the family home 2:00 Saturday May 2, 2015.
