Wiltshire): In the will of his step-motherMartha Bersheba Sober, dated 26 Apr 1795: "I have left my estate toHope Elletson Sober for his life only, as I believe his atachment tothe Indian is not legal and his ch are illegitimate in justice to therest of my husband's family. His handsome legacy from his grandmotherand aunt."
Perhaps the ancestor of the coloured SOBERS, or perhaps refers to the East Indies: In the will of his grandmother May Sober, dated 28 July1792: "Elletson S. now in the E.I., 2000lbs."
