  Census records show birth Abt 1874. Headstone notes 15 Apr 1777. Records from Harold P. Jayne have the date as 11 Apr 1783,and notes he is the third child of John Jayne. There are three dates for his birth--1774, 1777, and 1783. Henry Jayne/Jaynes, born to John Jayne and Cornelia Decker; in Middle Smithfield, Pa. Married Catherine Crowford, prob. in New York. Henry bought land in Washington Co., Ohio in 1829.Cen. records show he was the father of eight children. I have only found four of them. Cornelia Jayne, daughter b. abt. 1812 and listed on the 1850 & 1860 cen. with her parents, she is also buried at Moss Run Cemetery. Eliza b. abt 1825, she is also listed on the 1870 or 1880 cen with her mother. She married a Gearheart. The other two childre are son Henry Norton Jaynes b. Oct 24, 1811 and his sister Sarah Jaynes. Both Henry and Sarah married in Ohio, Washington Co., . Henry to Nancy Jane Davis and Sarah to Ebenezer Gate Richardson. Both of these familys mover to Linn Co., Mo. Both Henry and Sarah Richardson died in Missouri. Henry on Jan. 22, 1873 and Sarah Jaynes Richardson, on Feb. 28, 1916. The death Cet of Sarah Jaynes Richardson list her parents as Henry Jayne and Catherine Crawford. Both Henry Jaynes and Sarah Jaynes Richardson are buried at the North Salem Cemetery in Linn Co., Missouri.
