  Public Obituary of Carol A. Douglass Carol Ann Douglass December 27, 1933-March 1, 2018 Goshen, NY Carol Ann Reidy, wife of A. Robert (Bob) Douglass, died peacefully on the morning of March 1st 2018 with her family by her side. On December 27, 1933 she was the second child born to John and Louise Reidy. Carol graduated Mamaroneck High School in 1952. She worked at Arnold Constable & Co. in New Rochelle and modeled women's clothes there. She won the first Miss. Westchester contest in 1952. In 1953 she married Bob Douglass. Her happiest times were spent camping, canoeing and hiking with her family in the mountains of the Adirondacks. She taught her children, by example, to be stewards of the earth. When her children were grown, she continued to nurture young children by working as a teacher in the Suffern YMCA nursery school until she retired. Carol was a faithful Catholic and she served with her husband as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She stayed involved with her own childrens' lives as a Den Mother, Girl Scout leader and a coordinator for her church's youth organization. Many happy family gatherings were hosted in the beautiful gardens of her home that she and Bob created and tended with care and love. She is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Bob Douglass, five children, Carol Douglass, Robert Douglass, Patrick Douglass, his wife Donna, Tara Arcury, her husband Tony, and John Douglass. And her grandchildren, who will always hold her dear in their hearts, Brian K. Gallagher, Christina Gallagher, Brandon Gallagher and Ashley Arcury. Carol is predeceased by her parents John Reidy and Louise Taylor Reidy, her sibling, Rev. Brother John Reidy, and her grandson Morgan Gallagher. Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9th at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St, Highland Falls. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10th at Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Fort Montgomery, NY. Cremated, cremains with family
