  Born Feb 1860 according to 1900 US Census Obituary - Capt. William Danes, lifelong resident of Patchogue, died on Monday at his home on Danes Street at the age of 76. Capt. Danes, who was a bayman, had been active in his work up to a short time ago. Funeral services were held on Wednesday with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The will of the late William M. Danes of Patchogue, disposing of more than $5,000 has these bequests; Paul E. Ruland, nephew, Manhattan; and William Danes of Inwood, $50 each; Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue, $200 care for the plot. The remainder of the estate is given to Dorothy D. Gerritson, and she is named executrix.
