Obituary - Alanson Payne, aged 88 years, died early this morning at his home on Blue Point Avenue, Blue Point, after an extended illness. He was born in North Sea, and had resided in Blue Point for 67 years where he served as president of the Blue Point Board of Education when the school district was first started, and also was formerly a fire commissioner.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice Payne, two sons, William Payne of Detroit, Mich., and Alan Payne of Blue Point, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Pettit Funeral Home, Patchogue, with the Rev. John Danielson of the Blue Point Baptist Church officiating and interment in the Blue Point Cemetery.
