- Died at home, Williams Corners Road
MORRISVILLE - Walter F. Reisig Sr., 83, of Williams Corners Road, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 at his home.
Born April 29, 1923 in Center Moriches, Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Bishop Reisig. He was valedictorian of his graduating class at Center Moriches High School and was a graduate of Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College. Walter served in the U.S. Army Air Corps., which later became the U.S. Air Force, during World War II. On Oct. 11, 1953, Walter was married to Dolores D. Wilson in Canastota. They made their home in Morrisville, where he was the director of transportation for the Morrisville-Eaton School System for 20 years until his retirement.
Mr. Reisig was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 163 of Morrisville.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores; two daughters and a son-in-law, Audrey Bryant of Syracuse; Gloria and Robert Butler of Cazenovia; two sons, Walter F. Reisig Jr. and Robert Reisig, both of Morrisville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 from St. Joan of Arc Church, Brookside Drive, Morrisville. Burial with military honors will be in the Morrisville Rural Cemetery in the spring. Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Assoc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13035.
