    • Miss Mary Deery, well-known in Sayville, is seriously ill at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Hawkins, on Oak Street, Patchogue.

      Miss Mary Deery, all her life a resident of Patchogue, and well-known in Sayville, died last Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Hawkins, with whom she had resided for the past five years. She had been ill with heart trouble for about a month and this caused her death. She was born in Patchogue 75 years ago. She was very prominent in the Congregational Church in which she was a Deaconess, as well as in the W.C.T.U. and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

      Her nearest relatives are a number of cousins: E. Eugene Hawkins and Mrs. Augusta Wilson of East Patchogue, Miss Ida Edwards and Edward Edwards of Staten Island, Victor Edwards of Middle Island, Elbert Swezey and Miss Sadie Sweezey of Southold.
