Audrey is survived by her older brother Wade Miller (Doris) of Islip, NY; and her younger sister, Nancy Rohrssen of E. Northport, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.
Audrey was married to James Raymond Hetfield on April 2, 1950 in NY where they raised their family of four.
They moved to the Rapid City area in December of 1978 where she worked for the Bell Telephone company. They purchased the property near Keystone upon her retiring from the phone company. Her husband of 47 years, passed away August 7, 1997.
She worked a good many years at the beautiful Rushmore Cave for John and Cindy Esposti in the merchandizing and bookkeeping areas, as well as helping and caring for the Esposti children; Chris, Jenny, and Ethan, which became her local ‘adopted' family.
She was a loving mother with a helping hand and gave good practical advice when needed, an adored grandmother, a good friend to many, and a dignified, classy lady. I know we shall all miss her and remember her in our hearts.
The family of Audrey Hetfield invites her friends and neighbors to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. being held at the Liberty Baptist Tabernacle, 1515 Space Avenue, Rapid City.
It will be followed by a dessert social downstairs in the fellowship hall. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Mountain View Cemetery.
