Notes - Obituary - Nicholas Schaper, a past president of the Long Island Fisherman's Association and who formerly was very active in the affairs of the community, passed away on Monday. A resident of Islip, he was 63. Prior to his retirement he operated the Sunrise Fish Market in Islip.
Mr. Schaper was a member of Meridian Lodge No. 691, and of O.E.S. No. 336. Members of both groups held services Tuesday evening at the Overton Funeral Home. Burial was Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
Mr. Schaper leaves his widow, Sue Warner Schaper; two daughters, Florence Schwarzer and Joyce Rhodes; two sons, Peter and Nicholas; his mother, Tina Schaper; three brothers, Louis, William and Arie; and eight grandchildren.
