Notes - Obituary - David Benjamin Still, aged 75, of Brookhaven, who retired several years ago as deputy superintendent in the Brookhaven Town Highway department, died April 27 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred B. Abrams in Blue Point, after an extended illness. Mr. Still was born in Coram, a son of the late Lorenzo Smith and Anna Maria Terry Still. He lived for many years in Coram, where he operated a farm, before moving to Brookhaven, where he also engaged in farming. He served as a school board member in Coram and Brookhaven during his residence in these villages, and about 30 years ago, he was elected a Brookhaven town assessor, a position he held for eight years. He was active politically in the Democratic ranks, and for several years was a member of the Brookhaven Democratic club. Besides his daughter, he leaves a son, Philip G. Still of Sag Harbor. The funeral service was held last Wednesday afternoon at the Abrams home, the Rev. Frederick Peters of Holbrook officiating. Interment was in the Coram Methodist cemetery.
