  • Notes
    • George Mills McCoy Jr. went to his Savior on February 4, 2019.
He was born on January 6, 1944 in New York City to George and Marion McCoy, and from the beginning filled his life and the lives of others with as much joy and laughter as possible.
George, known as Sandy, was a fanatical golfer and supporter of Oklahoma football and basketball, sharing those passions with his family and friends through trips to tournaments and bowl games, Saturdays in Norman and watch parties at home. However, more than anything he will be remembered for his devotion to his family, and as a man whose positivity, sense of humor, and ability to make the most of each day stood as an example of how best to live.
Sandy was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Toby McCoy and Ryan McCoy; and his sister, Elena Schesser. He is survived by his wife, Jane; his son Trey and wife Stephanie and granddaughters Brittney and Katelyn of Kemah, Texas; his son Zac and wife Julie and grandson Rory of Edmond; as well as nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway (Edmond). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The First Tee of Metropolitan Oklahoma City or to Make Promises Happen of Guthrie, OK.
