OBITUARY - Finds Lifeless Body at Mt. Sinai House - Mayhew Woodhull, Mt. Sinai Character, Found Dead by Oil Man
When Joseph Wells called at the home of Mayhew Woodhull, Mt. Sinai, yesterday, (Wednesday) morning, he found Woodhull stretched across his bed. He spoke to him but got no reply, and further investigation showed that he was dead.
He was seen around on Tuesday by neighbors, and has apparently been in good health. He lived alone.
Woodhull was a character in the community--everybody knew him. It is said that he was half Indian.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, (Friday), at O. B. Davis' funeral parlors, Rev. Frank Voorhees of the Mt. Sinai Congregational Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Wading River Cemetery. He is survived by one daughter, Ethel Woodhull of Rockville Centre, and one sister, Miss Sarah Woodhull of Brooklyn.
