    • Son of Herbert Fletcher Hammond and Lydia Frances Butson, husband of Daisy Winifred Butson, and father of Earl Butson and Mary E. Hammond (married Oliver Knight Pascoe) . Husband of the widow, Emily (Fowles) Rowley.
      On September 12, 1918, Arthur Wilson Hammond, aged 33, stated that he was born May 18, 1885, resided at 96 West Avenue, Patchogue, NY with wife, Daisy Winifred, and worked as a lace weaver at the Patchogue Manufacturing Co. in Patchogue, when he registered for the draft during World War I.

      Obituary - Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hammond, of 243 West Avenue, Patchogue, died as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Dover, Del., December 19.
      Mr. Hammond, 76, was born in Patchogue. He was the foreman in the weaving department at the Patchogue-Plymouth Mill until its closing.
      He is survived by a son, Earl of Bayport; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Pascoe of Blue Point; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Wilbur, Mrs. Daniel Whaley, and Mrs. Grayce Dorn, all of Patchogue, and Mrs. Leon Manning of Leroy, O., two brothers, Harvey and Percy, both of Patchogue; and a grandchild.
      Mrs. Hammond, 77, was born in Manchester, England. She was a forelady in the lace department at the Patchogue-Plymouth Mill, and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Patchogue.
      Services for the couple were held at the Ruland Funeral Home, Patchogue, December 23, with the Rev. John E. Southard, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment for Mr. Hammond was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue, and for Mrs. Hammond, in Lakeview Cemetery, Patchogue.
      Also - Killed In Delaware - According to the wire service reports, an elderly couple were fatally injured Tuesday night at an intersection near Dover, Delaware.
      Killed were Arthur Hammond, 76, and his wife, Emily, 75, of 243 West Avenue, Patchogue. The report said that both were killed when their car was in collision with a milk delivery truck.
      The truck driver, Roy Aronson, 31 of suburban Dover, escaped injury, the report stated.
      The couple had been visiting a stepson, John Rowley Sr., of Dover, and had gone for an evening ride. They were pronounced dead on arrival at Kent General Hospital.
