She is the daughter of General Sir Laurence James Oliphant, 9th ofCondie and Hon. Mary Monica Gerard. [2.[S37]] From 8 June 1912, her married name became Cumberbatch. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire in 1941.1
