    Died at Mather Memorial Hospital

    Chester A Hawkins, 69, of South Setauket passed away at the Mather Hospital on Friday, September 9, at 1:30 pm. He was the son of the late Thomas W and Mary Macy Hawkins. Survivng are two daughters, Mrs. Urban Everling and Mrs. Vincent Pious, a son, James Hawkins, six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Smith and Mrs. Effie Lewis. Services were held on Monday, Sept. 12, at 1:30 pm. The Rev. James R. Osborne of Setauket Methodist church officiated. Interment was in the family plot in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by sons Arthur, James, Russell and Joseph, and daughters Doreen Torgersen, Della McIntosh and Marie Arnold, as well as by 20 grandchildren. Mr. Hawkins was a veteran of World War III.Funeral services were held at Bryan Funeral Home in East Setauket, with the Reverend Lee Hardgrove officiating.
