Died at home, Alvah's Lane; 80th birthday

JOSEPH M BURNS
Mr Joseph M Burns passed away at his late residence on Alvah's Lane in Cutchogue on Sunday, May 1st, on his 80th birthday. He was born in Cutchogue on May 1, 1875, the son of the late Patrick and Margaret Burns. Mr Burns was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church, Cutchogue.
Rosary services were held at his late home on Wednesday evening at 8 PM. A requiem mass was offered at the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday May 5th at 9:30 AM by the Rev John C Brennan, pastor of the church. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cutchogue under direction of Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr Burns is survived by his wife Mrs Beatrice Gallagher Burns, a son Joseph Burns of Southold and a daughter Miss Mary Burns of Cutchogue.

OSEPH M BURNS
Joseph M Burns, 65, formerly of Southold, died at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam NY September 15 after a short illness.
Born November 8, 1914 in Cutchogue, he was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice Burns. He was a dairy supervisor for Dairy Herd Improvement Co-op of Ithaca. He was predeceased by his wife the former Doris Terry.
He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Ackley of Menands NY; four sons, Robert of Albany,Terry of Fultonville NY, Clinton of Palatine Bridge and Joseph of Speakers NY; a sister Mary Burns of Cutchogue and 12 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Thursday September 18 at 9 am in St Peter and Paul Church, Canajoharie NY with the Rev John Roos of St James Church, Fort Plain, officiating. Burial followed in St Peter and Paul Cemetery.
