      Lt.Col. Charles Taylor Streit, husband of Bernelle Barnes Streit, died Friday, January 13, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernelle, a sister Elsie Hardy of Clearwater, Fl., and nieces and nephews.
      "Charlie" or "Chuck" as he was called by his friends was born in Newburg, NY to Carl and Mary Jane Streit on August 19, 1917. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Phil Streit.
      He was retired from General Dynamics and the U.S. Air Force. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the group known as the "Flying Tigers". He also flew the "Hump". He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
      A memorial service was held in Fort Worth, Texas. Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery, Marshall, Ar. on February 04, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Roller Coffman Funeral Home of Marshall, Ar.
