      Frank Baker, Bread Firm's Founder, Dies
      One of Lima's prominent pioneer businessmen, Frank A. Baker, 75, died Monday at 4 p.m. in Memorial Hospital. He lived at 615 W. Elm St.
      He was founder of the Frank Baker Bread Co. Started in 1927, the firm was sold in 1952 to Nickles Bakery, Inc. Mr. Baker retired in 1953.
      Before coming to Lima, Mr. Baker had been general manager of the bread department of the National Biscuit Co., Buffalo, N.Y.
      He was born at Zanesville, Nov. 21, 1888. He was a member of Baha'i World Faith, the Lima Club, and the Troubadors.
      He is survived by a son, Dr. William K. Baker, Deerfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert (Louise) Matthias, Arlington, Tex.; and six grandchildren. His wife, Dorothy, was killed in a commercial plane explosion over the Mediterranean Sea, near the Island of Elba, Jan. 4, 1955. She had been chairman of the American National Baha'i Assembly. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Baker, also preceded him in death.
      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Siferd's Westwood Chapel. Dr. Otto Zmeskal, dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Toledo, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
