- Virgil was born in Fayette, West Virginia in 1926, and moved with his family at a very young age to Pioneer, Tennessee. There he lived on a large farm until he went into the Navy at 18. After the war was over in 1946 he went to Detroit Michigan to work at the automobile factories. Virgil married Delphine Edwards on June 19, 1954. After working ten years at Chryslers they moved to Florida in 1958. He worked at Orlando Fruit and Produce, Orlando Utilities, and helped build Disney World. He worked there until he retired after 21 years in May 1991. He was a member of the Disney World Golden Ears Club, South Seminole Blue Lodge 3645, Scottish Rite, and the Bahia Shrine. He collected cans, tabs and other recyclable products for the Shriner Children’s Hospital and was a driver taking children to the Tampa Hospital as long as he could health wise.
